Eclipse Dual Diagnosis Program

Few drug treatment centers specialize in treating complex co-occurring disorders. Nationally, research continues to reveal that people with co-occurring disorders need a specialized form of treatment, referred to as integrated services or dual diagnosis treatment.

The Eclipse Program at Springbrook Hospital is designed for those suffering from the co-occurring diagnosis of mental illness and substance abuse problems. This dual diagnosis program combats both drug or alcohol abuse and mental illness within one program.

Springbrook Hospital realizes that combating addiction while dealing with a mental illness presents its own challenges and unique set of problems to overcome. The challenges can be met with our Eclipse program, which is both an inpatient and partial hospitalization program (see our PHP Program page). This gives our patients the flexibility to find a recovery program that fits their unique situation.

DualDiagnosis.org says to increase your chances of achieving a full recovery, your care should include:

  • Parallel treatment of your mental health and substance use disorders by the members of a highly trained treatment team
  • Acknowledgement of the importance of psychotherapeutic medications, such as antidepressants or anti-anxiety meds, in the treatment of co-occurring disorders
  • A supportive approach to therapy that reinforces self-esteem and builds self-confidence instead of confronting the client with negative, aggressive statements
  • An inclusive treatment strategy that brings partners, spouses, children and other household members into therapy for individual counseling, group meetings or education
